See the information provided below the fees table regarding important registration guidelines. Note that presenting authors need to register by March 31 to guarantee inclusion in the program. Due to COVID-19 protocols, there will be no on-site registration.

* Full registration is for non-student participants.  Post-doctoral Fellows must register as Full Registrants.
**Student registration is for students working toward a degree in an academic institution. Verification will be required.
***Non-members will receive a 12-month membership until December 31, 2023 with their registration.
****Banquet participation requires purchase of ticket.

Registration Guidelines

Early registration will end at 12 am EDT on March 31, 2022. Standard registration begins April 1 and will continue through April 30, 2022. Late registration begins May 1 and will end May 27, 2022. There will be no on-site registration

  • Full Registration and Student Registration includes access to all technical sessions, plenary lectures, and conference materials (program, conference app, abstracts), the welcome reception, and breakfast, lunch and all coffee breaks on June 1–3, 2022
  • If you are currently a student and will graduate in May or June 2022, you may register as a “student”. All student registrants will be asked to upload a copy of their student ID or other documentation when they register.
  • Following EMI policy, each abstract must be accompanied by a separate registration in order to be included in the technical program. Multiple abstracts cannot be associated with a single registration.
  • If you are the presenting author on an abstract and it has been accepted, you will need to complete your registration and pay the registration fees no later than March 31 in order to guarantee inclusion in the final program.
  • There is no one-day registration. Your registration fee is for the entire conference.
  • The Accompanying Person registration covers the opening reception and banquet only.  An Accompanying Person may not be another conference participant.  This fee does not include access to any of the technical program.
  • Conference attendees can reserve a room in the Charles Commons dormitory at Johns Hopkins University for a total cost of $180 for the entire conference. Selection of the dorm option must be made through the registration.  

Payment Methods

Credit Cards

The standard and preferred method of payment is via credit card. We strongly encourage you to use this convenient option.  We are currently accepting Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express cards.  The charge will appear on your statement as WPY*USACM.

Wire Transfer

If you choose to pay by wire transfer, there is an additional $50 service fee to cover expenses incurred both at the bank of origin and the destination bank.  You will need to first register online, indicating "offline payment" as the payment method and submit your registration. Then send an e-mail to [email protected] requesting Wire Transfer Instructions. The wire transfer method of payment will not be available after May 1.

Check

If you will be paying by check, make it payable to "The United States Association for Computational Mechanics", and mail it along with a copy of your registration confirmation to the following address.  Write the name of the registrant on the check. As with the wire transfer option, you much first register online before sending your check.

If you choose either the wire transfer or check option, your registration will be marked “pending payment” until the funds are deposited on our side.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

Registration cancellations are strongly discouraged. If for unavoidable reasons you will be unable to attend after having registered for EMI 2022, you may request a refund by sending an e-mail to [email protected], with a justification statement. This request must be made before May 1, 2022, 5:00 p.m (EDT). There will be a $75 administrative fee applied to all refunds regardless of when the cancellations take place.  Refunds will be made by check, and sent within 30 days after the conclusion of the conference.  No refunds will be granted after May 1, 2022.

ADA Compliance

Johns Hopkins University is fully accessible to the disabled. If you require special assistance at the conference, please submit a written description of your requirements with your registration form or email before May 10, 2022. While ASCE will make every effort to meet the needs of the attendee, accommodations cannot be guaranteed without prior notification.

Liability Waiver and Release

In submitting this registration, I acknowledge and agree that I am undertaking to participate in the conference activities as my own voluntary and intentional act. I agree that I alone am responsible for determining whether I am physically capable of participating in any conference activity, and I understand that there is risk associated with my participation, which may include without limitation, injury or loss caused by my negligence or the negligence of others. With knowledge and acceptance of the risks involved, I accept full responsibility for my safety and well-being. In consideration of my participation in conference activities, I hereby waive, release, hold harmless, and discharge ASCE and its officers, directors, and employees from all loss or injury that may be suffered by me in connection with Conference activities to the fullest extent permitted by law.

ASCE COVID-19 Policy

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists anywhere other people are present. Any person who chooses to travel to and/or participate in this conference assumes all risks arising from that decision, including but not limited to infection from other vaccinated or unvaccinated participants, hotel guests, or other persons.
